Rob is an Environmental Scientist (honours) that has devoted his life to earth / ocean conservancy.
Working for a major UK University as a lecturer for 13yrs Rob has working experience in fieldwork, surveying, chemical & physical analytical techniques, water quality and affects of contaminants on habitats and species. Rob also has a Masters degree in ‘Archaeology and Heritage’ and researches the historical and cultural aspects of Human settlements including their effects on the environment.
Rob then took up the position of COO of Sea Shepherd UK, working in tandem with the Sea Shepherd global NGO at large for 9yrs and counting.
Rob has overseen and orchestrated 9 national and international major Sea Shepherd Campaign Operations:
- Operation GrindStop in the Faroe Islands 2014
- Seal Defence Campaign in Scotland (2014-2015)
- Operation Bloody Fjords in the Faroe Islands (2016-2022)
- Sea Shepherd UK 's Marine Debris Campaign
- Cove Guardians / Operation Infinite Patience in Japan (2016-2017)
- Operation 404 (2017-2018)
- Sea Shepherd UK's Ghostnet campaign (2018-2022)
- Reconnaissance work by boat and land around Orkney, Shetland and the Faroe Islands (2016-2019)
- Operation Mjolnir in Iceland at Hvalfjordur (2018)
- Sea Shepherd UK's Education Project (2020-2021)
- Founder member of the #StopTheGrind coalition
- Operation Northern Exposure, Iceland (2022)
